-case scenario to worst-case scenario. what we have today, from new york city, and all to have the boroughs, from new york city and also from bergren county into parts of new jersey, all the way up to portland, all under blizzard warnings right now. there are 23 million people that live in that blizzard warning right now. 23 million affected by this blizzard. and so here's the best-case scenario for the at least amount of snow. a computer model that doesn't believe the merger is going to happen. so 9.7 in albany, 7.5 in new york city, 13 in portland, only 12 in boston. you can only hope that that would happen. this is the miss. this is if it's the best possible scenario. this, now, is the other side of the coin. the storm that does combine, the moisture does get in there, and you get the cold and the warm to mix, 34 in boston, 26 in providence, 14.3 in new york. which one do you believe? well, it's still going to probably come down a little bit farther and farther, as these models get closer and closer to when the snow starts, compared to when the snow ends. we talked about that yesterday, how it

atlantic city to cape cod including boston. live picture in boston right now where winds are gusting at 40-mile-per-hour and snow coming down heavily and we have a blizzard and blizzard warnings in effect. here's a look at the storm. it's a huge strong low pressure area passing just to the south of the east coast passing just to the east of atlantic city. that means all the cold air is getting dragged down from canada but all the moisture is piling in from the atlanta. the i-95 corridor heavily traveled, philadelphia, new york, hartford, providence, boston, all going to see more than a foot of snow. the heaviest snow along the i- 95 corridor and i just saw a report of thundersnow being reported in providence. the big-time problems there of course getting in and out of there will be a huge problem especially when it comes to planes. roberta gonzales is at sfo with details on the flights. >> reporter: more than 60 flights were canceled here at sfo due to that potentially historic blizzard that's converging with a secondary storm system blasting through

badge was also found in the city. but dorner's shooting spree may have started days ago here in irvine. on sunday morning, monica quan, the daughter of a police official named in his manifest oh, was shot and killed along with her fiance while sit in their car. on wednesday, police officially named dorner as the suspect. quan, who was 27, was the daughter of retired los angeles police officer randall quan. in dorner's alleged online rantings, he blamed randall quan for mishandling the appeal for his termination. dorner lost his appeal in 2011. before monica quan was killed, dorner allegedly made this threat in his writings. i never had the opportunity to have a family of my own. i'm terminating yours. police here know what they are up against. neighborhoods are on lockdown, intersections sealed off. officers on edge. so much so that two undercover lapd officers opened fire on a pickup truck they thought was dorner's. turns out it was two women delivering newspapers. one was reportedly shot in the hand. the other in the back. but they'll be okay. meantime, the lapd says it's doing all i

the city. he's stuck. he came into this church parking lot. was going to plow it, got halfway through, but the conditions proved to be too much, so he's been struggling to get out of that particular position for the past 20 minutes or so. but again, anderson, there is a fleet of some 5,000 vehicles like this that are out on the streets throughout the state, plowing roads. plowing the primary routes, plowing parking lots and secondary routes like the one that you see here. looks like he's finally going to make his way out of here, but we're going to move back just a little bit. as you know, anderson, in addition to the fleet of equipment that they have out in the streets, the governor has also enacted a plan banning basically all vehicles on the streets except for emergency vehicles. that has certainly helped. it's kept a number of people off the street out here in boston, in massachusetts, as the storm continues to barrel down. i can tell you just from the experience here, it's an icy, wet, blinding, bitter type of snow. it just hits your face, it's painful being out here. so this is

nothing that city has really ever seen, believe it or not. blizzard, winter storm and coastal flood warnings are in effect this morning as 10 million people brace for the onslaught. grocery stores and gas stations are seeing long lines of customers stocking up in case of power outages. this storm is already causing a lot of havoc on travel plans across this country and event nationally, in fact about 3,000 flights, 3,000 have already been canceled, and we haven't seen the worst of it. meteorologist janice dean is out -- we thought maybe she was out, but maybe she told them, no-no, it's too cold outside. rick outside. jon: she is wearing or camouflage dress. jenna: i thought you were going to be outside. apparently i was wrong. >> reporter: i'm go outside if you need me that. i am well prepared. this weather machine has got her parka. so certainly you've got to be prepared. my husband was in line last night getting the gas. the important thing to remember is a lot of the northeast went through hurricane sandy, so we know what it's like to be without power for weeks, and we know what
